As a wedding photographer, I am constantly seeking out unique and memorable moments to capture for my couples. And let me tell you, Aileen and Roger’s wedding at the Brooklyn Prospect Boat House was an absolute dream come true. Not only did they have the most beautiful weather for an early November wedding, but the entire day was filled with laughter, love, and a touch of Chinese cultural flair.

I arrived at Aileen and Roger’s apartment early in the morning, as the couple was getting ready for their big day. The energy in the room was palpable, with Aileen surrounded by her bridesmaids having so much fun while make up and hair artist worked their magic. The anticipation was building, and I was excited to be a part of it all.

One of the highlights of the day was seeing Aileen’s stunning bouquet, and later on the flowers at the venue, filled with burgundy-toned flowers. The colors perfectly complemented the autumnal vibes of the day, and it made the whole space come together beautifully. As a photographer, I was thrilled to have such vibrant and rich tones to work with in my images.

But what truly set this wedding apart were the little touches that Aileen and Roger had thoughtfully included. At each table, there were small tokens for their guests. And let me tell you, these weren’t your ordinary wedding favors. These little treasures contained crowns and tattoos with the couple’s faces! It was such a unique and fun way to personalize the day and make their guests feel like a part of the celebration.

As the evening went on, something truly unexpected happened during the cocktail hour. Chinese dragon dancers made their way into the venue. The vibrant colors and lively movements of the dancers brought a whole new level of excitement to the atmosphere. Everyone was cheering and clapping, and it was a moment I will never forget. It was raw, unfiltered, and oh so real. I couldn’t have asked for a better opportunity to capture the genuine joy on Aileen and Roger’s faces.

Throughout the entire day, I was constantly on the lookout for those authentic and candid moments. The laughter, the tears, the stolen glances – every fleeting expression that told a story. As a photographer, my goal is always to capture the true essence of a wedding, and Aileen and Roger’s celebration was a treasure trove of those magical moments.

This wedding was truly a reminder of why I am so passionate about photography. It’s about preserving memories and capturing love in its rawest form. And Aileen and Roger’s Chinese wedding was a testament to the beauty of different cultures coming together to create something truly unique and spectacular.

As I wrap up this blog post, I can’t help but reminisce on all the incredible moments I had the privilege of photographing on Aileen and Roger’s special day. From the intimate moments during their preparations, to the vibrant Chinese dragon dancers, and everything in between – it was an absolute joy to be a part of this journey. Being able to document their love story through my lens was an experience I will always hold dear.

To Aileen and Roger, thank you for allowing me to capture the magic of your wedding day. It was a true honor, and I wish you both a lifetime of happiness and countless more beautiful moments together.

I feel photography it's been in my life before I was even conscious of it.

One of my clearest childhood memories was watching my mom set up her film camera and give it to my dad so she could have some nice photos with us.
I remember being surrounded by cameras and film rolls, and I can say now that I'm one of the luckiest persons to have many photographs of my childhood before cell phones with cameras were a thing.

Now that I'm a gown up, I appreciate the beautiful work my mother did to document my life, how precious those memories are, those moments that won't be back, but they'll live forever on her albums and polaroids.

I have spent the last seven years getting to know new humans and documenting their stories and relationships. How they got into that point of their life, and what makes them light up. I feel it is quite a responsibility and a significant honor to be able to create this legacy for them.
