Korean/American Wedding in Brooklyn, NY – Sandra + Adam

Whenever I think about Sandra and Adam’s wedding, my feet start dancing around, remembering the unforgettable, fun, totally different wedding that these two planned.

It’s worth mentioning that the fusion of two cultures is one of my favorite things to photograph. Watching families from different backgrounds coming together and celebrating creates the most memorable moments.

Allow me to tell you all the details. The day began with the first look by the water; Sandra was stunning in her impressive Monique Lhuillier. The long train, shown shoulders, and floral lace made Sandra shine around Brooklyn.

After walking around Dumbo to get some portraits, we headed to 501 Union to meet with family and friends to celebrate their ceremony under the Huppa. With Jewish traditions, they said I do and closed the ceremony by breaking the glass. Proceeding to an exit with the cutest wedding party, Toby and Pika, the couple’s dogs.

Cocktail hour was one big moment of their day. Not only the mix of Korean and western-style was delicious, but the presence of the talented Gary Ferrar, a magician, made all the guests enjoy this time, bringing to their eyes the fascination that only magic can do.

Once the cocktail ended, and the guests were invited to the main room, the couple celebrated the Pyebaek ceremony. In this Korean wedding ritual, the bride and groom respect their parents. The couple dressed in their traditional Korean outfits, known as hanbok, knelt in front of their parents and offered them cups of tea. In return, the parents blessed the couple and gave them words of wisdom and advice.

After the Pyebaek ceremony, the couple changed into their western-style wedding attire. Sandra changed to a more casual, short, and simple outfit that was perfect for the dancing night ahead. The outfit was perfectly wrapped with a tinsel Jacket from Rachel Burke. Fun, colorful, and as unique as the party coming up.

The reception was nothing short of amazing. The room was decorated with silk flowers that they rented from Something Borrowed Blooms. You can get a beautiful decoration minimizing the waste after the day is over.

The neon sign connected all the dots, the decor, the outfit, and the ambient for a dope dance party ahead.

One of the couple’s best friends sang the first dance, filling this moment with emotions. After that, guests danced the night away to the rhythms of one of the best DJs in NYC, Mike Vosters

The venue received food trucks with ice cream and pizza as the night ended. The couple bid their guests farewell and thanked them for participating in their special day.

The wedding was a perfect blend of Korean and American cultures and a celebration that no one would forget anytime soon.

Congratulations S + A!
